Excurison to Seoul Museum of History, Agricultural Museum and Rice Museum
We will meet by the front entrance of the Seoul Museum of History (Seoul Yuksa Panmulgwan) at 8:45am. The Museum is located across from the Citi Bank on the north side of Jongro street between the Kwangwamun (Exit 7 ) and Seodaemun (Exit 7 ) subway stations (Line 5) about a ten minute walk from either. Google the station images to make sure.
The International Cultural Director of the museum Ms. Rho Sun-hee will guide us on an 1 ½ hour English lecture tour of the major exhibitions, including,
1. Joseun Period (1392-1910):
2.Opening harbors of Korea to the outside world
3.Korean under Japanese colonization
4. Modern Seoul
5. Ariyang in Japan (Korean Migrants)
6. Hungson Taewon-gun (Father of King Ko-jong 1820-1898)
After this we will peek in at the dragons at Gyeonghuigong (Shining Virtue) Royal Palace on the way to a tour of the the unique Agricultural Museum, and the neighboring Rice Museum (mainly for snacks available for purchase at its Food Shop).
We will finish around 12:30 p.m.
Lunch can be found at one of the numerous restaurants in the area.
Tour cost: 10,000 won for members and 13,000 won for non-members.
