Naju City, 2,000 years old and located in the Jeolla-namdo Province, had many historically remains resembling Seoul, such as very old local government buildings, together with lodging facilities of the high ranking envoys from the Hanyang (Seoul) Central Government, the City Wall of Naju (like Seoul's Hanyang Doseong), the Governor's Residential Building (used until the 1980s), and the very old and big Hyanggyo, a national Confucian educational Institute which is very similar in size and arrangement of buildings to what is found in Seoul's Sunggyungwan University.
Geographically, Naju has a mountain named Namsan, South Mountain, the same as Seoul’s Namsan, while its Yeongsan-gang River is said to resemble the Han River of Seoul.
That‘s why Naju has been called the ‘Little Seoul of Joseon.”

We are joining the KHS for a one-day excursion to Naju City with the theme, “A 2,000-years history journey to the City of Naju.” We will be travelling by KTX bullet train and then connecting to Naju city via a local tour bus, starting from Naju Station for an approximate 7-hour tour.

We will enjoy viewing the beautiful countryside while riding the KTX.  We will have opportunities to appreciate and learn the history and beauty of remote Naju City in a comfortable local city bus with a Korean guide whose explanation will be interpreted briefly in English.
