Horses, archers, wrestlers, steppes, deserts, ancient ruins, monasteries and more await you on this exciting excursion. RAS is offering this overseas excursion after a hiatus of several years. It is timed to coincide with Mongolia’s National Day and the opening of the main Naadam festival. This is a unique opportunity to discover a beautiful country whose history has been closely linked with that of Korea for centuries past.

Itinerary:
On the afternoon of the first day we will fly from Seoul to Ulaanbaatar, where rooms have been booked in one of the best hotels, the Blue Sky Tower Hotel. The next morning, after a visit to the Gandan Monastery we will drive out into the countryside. The first stop will be the Chinggis Khaan monument, a gigantic statue in honor of Mongolia’s great hero. Then the afternoon will be spent at the “13th Century Complex” where we will have a chance to discover many aspects of traditional Mongolian history and culture, including music, dance and Shamanism.

On the third day we will attend the Naadam festival opening ceremony and spend the whole day watching traditional wrestling and archery competitions, etc.

On the fourth day we will drive out of the city, watch the horse racing, then move on to the Dugana Khad camp. Here we will spend the afternoon, sleep for one night in Mongolian gers, and have ample opportunity to experience traditional Mongolian life, including horse riding and archery. Returning to our hotel in Ulaanbaatar the next afternoon, there will be time for shopping and photography. We will fly back to Seoul on the following morning.
