Mungyeong Tea Bowl Festival
We will depart from Seoul and head to the fortress town of Mungyeong. Every year in May, the city hosts the Tea Bowl Festival, celebrating Korea’s ceramic heritage and tea culture. Held in the picturesque mountain pass of Mungyeong Saejae, the festival brings together both exceptional local and international potters for a massive exhibition in the Joseon-style folk village at the base of the fortress. The excursion will include a walk along the fortress, which guards the northern edge of the Sobaek Mountains on the road to Seoul from Busan that was used by scholars on their way to the capital to sit for government service exams. We will also have ample time to visit to the festival and tour of the folk village, and enjoy a pottery experience program.
Excursion price includes round-trip transportation from Seoul to Mungyeong, lunch, and the pottery experience.
Meet the group at 8:30am in front of the Yongsan Post Office just outside Exit 1, Sinyongsan Station (Line 4 or blue line) of the Seoul Metro.
Please register by Wednesday, April 26, 2017.
