Membership

Membership in the RASKB, which was founded in 1900, is open to anyone with a sense of adventure and a bit of intellectual curiosity. Membership in the RASKB gives newcomers to Korea a place to start learning about their new cultural environment through three major activities:

• tours
• publications
• lectures

Today the RASKB has several hundred members in Korea as well as many overseas members and friends. Members are from a great variety of professions and jobs, they include both non-Koreans and Koreans. In addition to free admission to the lectures, members receive discounts on RASKB excursions and books, and a free copy of the annual journal Transactions. Members also receive an emailed newsletter listing upcoming cultural excursions, lectures and other information.

We welcome new subscribers to our regular monthly emailed Newsletters. Even if you are not planning to become a member, you might find some of our activities interesting. All you have to do in order to subscribe is click here, fill in the form and submit it. We also sometimes send out a special Overseas Newsletter for our members and friends living away from Korea. To join the RASKB or to update your membership information, at the same time as you remit your dues please send an email to raskb@kornet.net containing the following information: Your full name, mailing address, email address, telephone, type of membership, date and manner of remitting dues

If you live in Korea, you can send your membership in Korean won via bank transfer. Please send your memberships to:

Yearly membership dues are as follows:

Individual: 70,000 won
Husband & Wife: 100,000 won
Students: 30,000 won

Lifetime membership dues are as follows:

Individual: 700,000 won
Husband & Wife: 1 million won
Student: 500,000 won

Overseas Members

Overseas membership dues for an individual or a couple are US$ 25 per year or the equivalent in other currency. You can send your membership dues via bank transfer, send a personal check, or use our Paypal account (as soon as it is operating). Overseas members who are currently paid-up members receive a free copy of Transactions each year and are entitled to a discount on book purchases. Our regular email Newsletters are sent to all who wish to receive them, whether or not they are paid up.
